I attempted to paint myself, only because it was something I wanted to challenge myself with and I really like to do portraits and I haven't really posted a lot of portraits up as of yet. This project has taken quite a while and sometimes it's hard to paint yourself, mostly because you want to be honest, but if your self image is skewed, like mine is, it's really hard to see myself. When you paint a self portrait you really have to ask yourself: "Who am I?" If I can freeze a moment in time what kind of message do I want to send out to the world, that kind of thing.
